Fahrenheit 451

Thanks to all the seniors who came along to our Book Discussion last Thursday. It is great that so many of you are still wanting to read classic novels and this one you described as "eye-opening", "thought-provoking" and "extremely relevant." What I took away from the discussion is that the need for critical thinking is even more necessary today than ever before.

It is good to ask questions!

Over the February holiday we will read a modern short story- details to follow. New seniors and staff welcome to join us.

Scottish Book Trust 50 word competition

Welcome back everyone. Hope you all had a great holiday and got plenty reading done. I managed 5 books. Let me know if you read more!

Have been mulling over some creative ideas to make breaktime/lunchtimes more fun. Watch out in the next  few weeks. In the meantime for the S1 pupils who have been writing their own murderous stories why not give  the 50 word competition at Scottish BookTrust a go. You have to write a short story featuring fireworks. To be submitted online by end of January. And if you give me a copy we will see what prizes we can find for our own school library prize. Full details can be found at
Scottish Book Trust website.
