"The World of Norm" by Jonathan Meres

What our book group thought: "Norm is irritating" "self-centred", "he is very imaginative in a bad way" "He is funny especially when he goes to pee in his dad's wardrobe!"

We think that  Primary 6 to S1 pupils will enjoy reading this hilarious book.

"Out of the Depths" by Cathy Macphail

What our book group thought: "She is quite freaky- she can see dead people" "She is imaginative and is quite rebellious and doesn't do what she is told"
"This book is confusing especially at the end when she travels into the past"
"But overall we enjoyed this book and we think Primary 6 to S2 will enjoy it too."

"Dark waters" by Catherine MacPhail

"Dark waters" is all about a young boy who saves a younger boy and nearly dies whilst trying to get out of the freezing loch water. You should read this book because it tells you all about how his life is different after he saves the little boy. It will make you more careful near icy lakes.

Ways To Live Forever"Ways to live forever" is about an eleven year old boy with leukemia. Sam likes making up lists so he starts writing about his life and what it is like with leukemia. He adds lists to his book about many things.  The story is very uplifting and shows what real life is like and helps show how to deal with things like having leukemia.
