"Megan" by Megan
"Megan" is my favourite book because it is a very personal book on teenage life whilst being pregnant  It is quite a touching novel and makes you realise how life can change dramatically just from having a child.

"Gand National" by Niamh
I really liked reading the "Grand National" because it was an epic adventure about a teenage girl who gives it her all to race her horse in the Grand National. As she is a girl she is not able to race but her hard work and persuasion she gets to race her very much loved horse Piebald After months of training and hard work the teenage girl races her horse in the Grand national and wins.

"George's marvellous medicine" by Shannon
I liked how he was mischievous and exciting. He is very sneaky. I liked out he was very clever and didn't get found out.

Scottish Children's Book Awards

 Well done to all the readers in our Junior and Senior book clubs who read all short listed books in their categories. House points will be on their way! The winners of each group were announced on 21/2/12 and are Ross Mackenzie for "Zac and the dream Pirates" and Nicola Morgan for "Wasted".

Book title: Troy lord of the silver bow

Author: David Gemmel

Review: In a "Time of heroes" history and legend combine to tell the tale of Troy. This epic story tells the tale of two heroes. Helikuon, a young prince of Dardania, is haunted by her scarred and traumatic childhood. Argiarious is cloaked in loneliness and driven only by thoughts of revenge. Both land and sea battles are epic. This is a true time of bravery and betrayal.

Book title: The Inheritance Cycle

Author: Christopher Paolini

Review: "The Inheritance Cycle" is composed of four books (Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr and Inheritance) and these books are by far the best thing I've ever read. The story is greatly invigorating and the twists and turns within the plot  will keep you on your toes the full time. These books will have any lover of fantasy completely pulled in and will have them fall helplessly in love with the characters (or at least with the heroes!).

"Stormbreaker " by Anthony Horowitz

This book is the bomb shiza, no book can compare to this.  In it a young boy's uncle gets murdered by a contract killer. The boy called Alex finds this strange and stumbles on an evil plot. I like the book because it is about spys.

"Stormbreaker" is a breathtaking book with spectacular detail and fantastic description. It is a tale of a 14 year old boy named Alex Rider whose uncle Ian dies from an assassination.  Alex is determined to get revenge so he joins M16 and is sent on a mission to Cornwall and gets cuaght. If you like thrilling books read thois one.
